Hello Friends!
It's been a while since my last blog and lots has happened! So, I'll start with the upcoming shows (I'm SO excited!):
On Friday August 5th I'll be playing at Hugh's Room for the first time ever! This is a dream come true for me, I have wanted to play there for a very long time now. It's such an amazing venue that has showcased some of the best talent in the world! (I have to pinch myself every once in a while to make sure I'm not dreaming!). Thanks to SPEAK-Music for making me a part of their showcase!! My band will be joining me on stage: Alvin Lapp on drums, Steve Coumont on guitar, Andrew MacLean on bass and Travis Berlenbach on backing vocals (my sister will be in Ireland so she won't be able to join us) ... we still don't have a name for the band yet, so any ideas you might have are more than welcome. Ah yes, today the sun is shining and for the first time, in what seems to be a never ending winter, I can almost detect the faint smell of spring in the air. Along with this beautiful day, came another little tidbit of cheerfulness to lift the spririts. Today, Looking For Sunshine received a fantastic review (which in this case, is a bit more like an article) from Eric Thom at Roots Music Canada. RMC's well laid out website is dedicated entirely to Canadian folk and roots music, they're slogan is "Listening to Canadian Roots Music, and Loving It". I'm honoured and grateful to receive such wonderful support. So here it is, finally! My new website, all shined up and ready for the world to see. Most importantly it's for you, the fans, to visit and listen to music, check out photos, read the latest news and join in discussions such as this one, which I really hope you will do. Your thoughts and opinions matter to me, so I thought for my very first blog on my new site, I would ask for your thoughts, let me know what you think of the new site, if there is something you think could be improved or something else you'd like to see on here, please do let me know, I'm not afraid of constructive critism ;) OR if you just simply love it, you can tell me that too!
