Price: $20.00

Purchase your tickets HERE.

NONIE CRETE w/ Eugene Rae & Gary Kreller  (www.noniecrete.com) From heady blues, Irish balladry, to Cajun and French Canadian hues, Nonie seamlessly traverses genre with an execution only matched by her uncanny ability to explore equally diverse lyrical themes. While a veritable one-woman music festival, Nonie also features Eugene Rea (vocals, guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, bouzouki, whistles) and Gary Kreller (accordion, piano).“... [her] delightful accomplished original pieces, ranging in style from melodic Anglo-American balladry to bluesy rock, gutbucket saloon songs and country folk, reveal Crete as a powerful and engaging storyteller with an extraordinarily sweet voice and a mean harmonica". ~ Greg Quill (Toronto Star)

HOTCHA! (www.HOTCHA.ca) High-energy hillbilly swing duo (Beverly Kreller and Howard Druckman) blend old-time Western, bluegrass, early swing and country gospel delivered with the energy of a runaway train. Soaring vocals, lively accordion, gritty guitar, wailing harmonica and big-beat bodhran. Their debut CD DUST BOWL ROOTS: SONGS FOR THE NEW DEPRESSION is intended as a true tonic for the times we live in.  "HOTCHA! does a really fine job of evoking the music of the Great Depression by combining period pieces like Louis Armstrong’s “Ol’ Man Mose” with very cool in-the-tradition originals like 'Mines Went Down’… that’s very effectively set to a Gene Krupa-like drum pattern. [Their] original songs are very well crafted.” ~ Mike Regenstreif (Folk Roots/Folk Branches and Sing Out! Magazine) "This debut is sure to bring a smile to your face and a rumble and shake to your legs that'll make you want to dance around the parlour with a properly chilled mint julep." ~ Chris Burland (ChartAttack.com)

GRAINNE (www.grainne.ca) The first thing you need to know about Grainne is how to say her name and what it means. It's pronounced grawn-ya, it's an old Irish name and in English it means Grace.  Eric Thom writes in a recent Roots Music Canada review, that Grainne’s music is “reminiscent of Lucinda Williams and a slightly rebellious Mary Chapin Carpenter.... her original compositions are instantly familiar-sounding, hook-laden songs that encourage you to kick up your feet and, in some cases, sing along.”“She’s honest, direct, and writes the absolutely catchiest hooks I know; the album should come with a related warning label.” ~ Andy Frank (Roots Music Canada)

Come and enjoy great music, great food, and great people at our fundraiser for rural girls.

Org4Peace International Helpers works with communities in developing countries like Nepal.

We help to build schools, and work on providing basic care and a safe environment for abandoned, trafficked, orphaned and disadvantaged rural children.

One of our current projects focuses on girls education.

Only 30% of women in Nepal have basic literacy. This drastically reduces their options in life, and often places them in living situations filled with abuse and poverty, with no way out.

By supporting girls education we can empower the little girls of today, to become whoever they wish to be, tomorrow.

Yet another successful night! Again, a really great turn out! My pal Ken Tizzard performed an excellent acoustic set to open the night, he even brought a surprise guest up on stage to sing a song (Daniel Greaves, lead singer for The Watchmen got up and sang an excellent acoustic version of their song Holiday - thanks Dan!). What an honour to share the stage with such talented musicians. My sister Cora did a great job on backing vocals, along with my friend and producer Moe Berg (who also played some awesome gritty electric guitar), Alvin Lapp on drums, Jeff Beauchamp on bass, Ali Stead on rhythm electric guitar and Ken Tizzard on pedal steel made for one killer band!

Big thanks to the "all star" band that joined me on stage, they were awesome, totally rockin'! ... And to Ryan Kemp and the staff at The Red Dog, now these are some good peeps who know how to run a good show, the stage looked great and the theatre style setting (couches, candles, etc.) was beautiful. A special thanks to MJ Stead and my daughter Rochelle Ryan for helping out with the merch table :)
